Chhattisgarh State Renewable Energy Development Agency (CREDA) will organize a one-day workshop for creating awareness on energy conservation and drafting manner of energy conservation building code
CREDA has drafted the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC),
according to the climatic condition of Chhattisgarh in consultation with
Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), ministry of power, and Government of
India.CEO, CREDA Shailendra Shukla emphasized in his keynote address to
reduce energy consumption to mitigate the ever increasing gap between
demand and supply, which is currently recorded at 16%. This can be
achieved by carrying out energy efficient and energy conservation
activities. Every individual can contribute to this, by installing solar
power plant at the roof top of their home so to as to meet the energy
demand by renewable energy means, thereby reducing the electricity bill.
Sanjay Seth, energy economist, presented an overview of the status of
implementation of Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC) at the
national level. CREDA’s chief engineer, Sanjeev Jain gave a presentation
on various activities and achievements of CREDA in the areas of energy
efficiency etc.
The participants of the workshop were faculty members and students
pursuing under-graduate courses from various technical institutions of
the state along with the representatives from state police department,
Housing Corporation, state housing board, Public Sector Undertaking
(BSP, NTPC), Nagar Nigam- Durg, BSNL, & practicing architects.
